Description

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the security of the hotel and casino facilities, including guest rooms, office areas, safes, and casino equipment. The role requires expertise in lock systems, key management, and emergency services to ensure the safety of both guests and Team Members.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain locks, deadbolts, and high-security lock systems for guest rooms, offices, storage areas, safes, and casino equipment.
  • Perform regular audits and checks of locking mechanisms, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security.
  • Handle key control and management, ensuring keys are issued and tracked properly for both staff and guests.
  • Respond to emergency lockout situations for both guests and staff promptly and professionally.
  • Repair and rekey locks, including safes and lockers, when necessary.
  • Install and maintain electronic access control systems, including keycard systems, biometric scanners, and other security technologies.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on security systems such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
  • Collaborate with hotel and casino security staff to ensure proper safety protocols are always followed.
  • Provide key duplication and rekeying services, including for high-security and restricted locks.
  • Maintain accurate records of service work, key transactions, and security measures.
  • Respond to urgent service calls, sometimes outside regular hours, to address security issues or lock-related emergencies.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of locksmith tools, supplies, and security-related equipment.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of temporary locks and security measures during special events or casino promotions. Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Qualifications
  • Valid locksmith license or certification (as required by state or local laws).
  • Proven experience as a locksmith, particularly in a hotel, casino, or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of hotel room key systems, high-security locks, safes, and electronic access controls.
  • Familiarity with both traditional and modern security technologies, including digital and electronic lock systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and other property staff.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work all hours/days and be able to rotate shifts if required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
  • Verify right to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. alone or more with assistance.
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).
  • Walk and climb stairs.
  • Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment.
  • Reach with hands and arms.


Work Environment Conditions

The work environment is characterized as an indoor/outdoor maintenance of facilities and hotel property. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but in Machine rooms and Plant requires hearing protection. The immediate work environment is smoke free; however, a smoking environment does exist in the building.
